Go-Karts for Fun Centers and Attractions: Go Karting for Fun Centers and Beyond

familyentertainmentcenter.com

An amazing little vehicle that started out as a way for airmen in the 1950s to kill some time has gradually turned into a popular worldwide sport for many. The go kart has quick become a phenomenon all over the world. Art Ingels was given credit for inventing the go kart when he built his very first one in 1956. That first kart was little more than a riding lawn mower compared to the models available today. Today, modern go karts can travel 160 mph or faster. Now that’s pretty amazing.

There are many different words to call them: go karts, go carts, go-karts, shifter karts, gokarts, enduro carts, off road go karts and other variations. Go karts are related to Formula One and Indy Car open-wheel racing. One thing is clear, getting behind the wheel of one is exciting. Many professional race car drivers, including Michael Schumacher, Sarah Fisher, Darrell Waltrip, Tony Stewart and Kyle Petty all got their start on the go kart racing circuit.

Used go carts for sale at www.pursuitzone.com.

So what exactly makes a gokart a gokart? Gokarts have a motor, transmission, chassis, seat and 4 tires. Since they don’t have a suspension, the chassis has to provide flexibility while retaining enough stiffness to let the kart grip around the track, especially through the turns. The chassis can be either be closed, also known as a caged chassis, which allows protection for the driver in the event of a rollover, or open, which provides no driver protection.

Engines used in gokarts are typically either 2-stroke or 4-stroke. The 2-stroke engine is usually more specialized and is made by companies like Honda or Briggs and Stratton. The 4-stroke engine is usually the standard type used in lawn mowers. The 2-stroke is typically more powerful than the 4-stroke and can be up to 30 horsepower or more.

As with Formula One racing, the kart tires can be either rain tires or slicks. Slicks have no tread and are used to achieve the best traction on a dry track. Rain tires are used during wet weather and have a tread. Icy conditions warrant specially-made spiked tires that give good grip on slippery surfaces.

Gokarts can be a stepping stone for drivers who want to work their way up to professional Formula One or Indy Car racing. It’s a less expensive way to get involved with racing. Of course, go karts are not just for those who aspire to become professional drivers. Mostly go karts are raced by people who want to have a little fun. Their popularity has reached all over the world. There are kart tracks for every skill level, from the extremely tame tracks located in family fun centers and amusement parks, to high end speed grand prix karting tracks found in larger cities.

Go carts are a great acquisition for fun centers. You can get your gokart from a store specialized in used amusement equipment or used amusement center equipment, and get your business going.

With the many different stages available for go kart drivers today, anyone can race at a comfortable level. The sky is the limit to a talented driver, who, with a lot of practice and a little luck, may just find himself racing alongside a professional someday. It is an exciting possibility.

Advanced Technology: Next Generation Laser Tag … just like computer games … taking the world by Storm

Monday, June 20th, 2011 | Permalink

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 23, 2010 —
Laser Tag is changing the face of the entertainment business. Delta Strike, a New Zealand based company, is the world’s no. 1 supplier of quality and innovative laser tag systems and equipment. For those thinking of setting up a successful family entertainment centre, theme park or laser tag business and staying

ahead of the competition today can be challenging. Consumers are getting more and more demanding, expecting to be ‘thrilled’ with continuously new experiences. However, there are some

very profitable Laser tag businesses emerging, who are winning over the laser tag market simply because they decided to start playing a different game: that of next generation laser tag … a new

laser tag experience that is taking the world by storm.

Why? Because it is addictive … Just like computer games, players want to play again and again – accumulating more points and ‘shooting’ their way up the scoreboard.
So what makes this latest laser tag experience so different? The laser tag industry leader in technology innovation, Delta Strike, explains.

This laser tag system was developed after gathering extensive information and rigorous testing. Deltastrike.net laser tag equipment contains features that makes the ‘first person shooter’

computer games so addictive, but have never been seen before in the laser tag industry. These features include:

• The ability to earn game points during the laser tag game, have a shield or ‘health’ and collect multiple weapons or tools, just like in computer games.
• A graphic LCD Head Up Display on the laser tag gun that can display your player name, weapons available, shield level, your score, name of the player you just tagged, real time game message etc.
• An advanced space-age laser tag gun containing 4 action buttons plus a trigger for excellent game control and making the laser tag experience more ‘real’.

• Unrivalled laser tag membership functionality includes points ladder, multi-centre membership, membership access from home etc.
• In addition, the laser tag gun that can be used indoors or outdoors with a shooting range of 30 meters – in bright sunlight.

And to ensure players keep coming back, Delta Strike is currently working on adding even more features to their laser tag gun, which will be released later in the year. Despite offering so much

functionality, the winning factor for many customers is that the system is still so easy to use:

Grant Richardson of Strike Entertainment says, “My four year daughter can play! The very young kids just run round tagging each other furiously and the older kids get more into the strategy.

People take on as much as they have the ability to use. ”

But that’s not all … Delta Strike has also developed a new set of laser tag arena components that makes players feel they are actually inside a computer game. How is this possible? They can

now make your laser tag arena props, that normally just ‘stand’ there come alive and actually interact with the players.

Players can shoot it and it can shoot players, it can dispense weapons or points and it interacts “intelligently”, producing audio and visual responses, which are part of the game itself. IT’S

ALIVE!

Needless to say, Delta Strike customers are impressed.

As Star Tracks General Manager, Chuck Starrit puts it: “Personally I feel the Delta Strike system is like stepping into a realistic arcade game, the customers absolutely love it.”

So in summary, what is the key to laser tag success and profit? Invest in a laser tag system that promises to surprise and challenge players during the years to come getting them ‘addicted’ so

they keep coming back to play again and again.

Plus, find out what has worked for other successful laser tag operators. One useful source of information is the laser tag academy

(http://www.deltastrike.net/laser-tag-academy.html), which provides independent laser tag information and useful tips which could provide the key to setting up and running a successful laser tag

business … so don’t delay, start researching now and get ready to become the most successful laser tag business around.

Toy Laser Tag – Great Game

Monday, June 20th, 2011 | Permalink

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) May 5, 2011 —
I remember when I would be a youngster. That was long ago, nonetheless it was in Great britain and our absolute favorite game was cowboys and Indians. We utilized to play in an location that many of us referred to as timber. Then there was the best woods as well as little woods and they were fantastic natural wooded common grounds where we might play undisturbed for hours on end.

All of these places were a youngsters heaven with plenty of big timber just begging being climbed and many hiding places so we could tackle the other young children within our games of cowboys and Indians. Just like on TV, my favorite then was ‘The Lone Ranger”. Our firearms were a piece of wood and our games were lots of imagination and much much more enjoyment. I have a little scar in my small knee when I crawled with a part of glass stalking some pesky indians. An extremely little setback for that noble task accessible.

Then when my kids emerged there initially were real looking pistols out there, six pistols that fired caps along with guns that fired corks and rubber bands. You could get guns that fires little darts and little balls and many types of combination’s. I assume young children will almost always be intrigued by firearms. My husband and I bought our 14 year old his first .22 firearm for his celebration and then he accustomed to kill bunnies from his own bedroom window.

Containing all influenced now as pistols are actually banned following your last massacre. That is OK because someone invented the laser rifle and parks opened up where one can go and possess virtual wars with one of these toy laser firearms. I’d a trial once with many young children and also got raised quite bad. Despite the fact that I have to level of comfort was exhilarating we genuinely loved it. Not surprisingly all of the large players now take over their skirmish games where they could wind up in a true battle and blast each other with paint weapons.

But at long last they’ve already made the toy laser tag rifle designed for children at home. Exactly what a good plan. Young children really love this brand new innovation in the same way they have always liked pistols and gun activities. These materials now shoot lasers with audio and recoil and register strikes and therefore are really realistic and allow the kids an excellent quantity skill into their aiming and firing. The toy laser tag systems now allow you to include a component so you can plug into your Television set and continue your laser enjoyment. Scalping strategies are so great there could be some serious rivalry from Dad attempting to play to. Almost always there is the opportunity to get additional pistols and add to your army and go on playing.

Sports Complex adds Laser Tag

Monday, June 20th, 2011 | Permalink

lasertagworld.com

Mooresville, IN – June 14, 2010
The owner of the Williamsburg Sports Complex, Keith Exton, approached Creative Works to design and build a
themed laser tag environment for their existing facility that would blend well with their other activities offered. The
complex opened its doors back in 2000 with one goal. They wanted a place where sports, recreation and fun could take
place all under one roof. With its unique state-of-the-art 77,000 square foot indoor facility, the complex is home to two
multi-sport indoor fields, a fully equipped fitness center, a first class gymnastics and cheer center and other activities.
Recently and after researching their options, they decided that adding a laser tag attraction would offer them the
largest revenue potential compared to other attractions which could fit in the same space. They had originally been
approached by a vendor who offered to provide them with a laser tag equipment and environment on a revenue-sharing
basis; however, after reviewing the offer and realizing how important it was that the attraction be successful, they decided
to provide a bigger WOW to their guests.
Creative Works first spoke with Keith to learn more about his facility and listen to any concerns about the laser tag
attraction being added to their center. We helped to explain the various themes we had available for laser tag and
assisted them in selecting one that met both goals of being eye-catching and immersive while at the same time costeffective for their budget. After carefully considering their options they chose to install our Space Quest laser tag them and add in our 14 foot high Energy Pulse Generator prop and our Enhanced Airbrushing package to round out the theme.

Next we reviewed the floor plans for their entertainment center and the space where the laser tag attraction was
to be dedicated. Our designers created a series of pre-architectural drawings that outlined the final room size for the
attraction area, indicated the quantity and location of black light fixtures and power receptacles needed, and displayed the
proposed arena maze layout including the wall barriers, base targets, and prop locations. This helped Keith to actually
visualize how the attraction would be placed into the area and to help him prepare the space for our arrival.
After the installation of their new Space Quest themed laser tag attraction was completed, they have had nothing
but great comments. “The Theme Team at Creative Works did a fantastic job and we are glad we chose their package
above all others. It has been a great addition to our facility,” said Keith.

Universal Studios: Say goodbye to Jimmy Neutron ride

Thursday, June 16th, 2011 | Permalink

blogs.orlandosentinel.com

Jimmy Neutron’s days are numbered at Universal Studios. The theme park announced Monday that the Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast attraction, will close on April 1 to begin preparations for a new attraction in that space.

Universal did not give details about the replacement attraction, but Internet speculation revolves around the “Despicable Me” movie that was released last year.

Universal’s press release says the new attraction will be “a natural fit” for the theme park and that it’s “just one of many exciting things planned for the next couple of years.”

Although the attraction will be shuttered April 1, Universal says it will reopen periodically this spring and summer. It will close permanently on Aug. 18, Universal says.

Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon blast is a simulator ride near the front of Universal Studios theme park, recognizable by Nickelodeon splatter of paint near the top of the building. It opened in April of 2003, replacing The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, which was one of the first rides in the Universal park when it opened in 1990.
